Key Responsibilities
Underwriting & Modeling
- Underwrite commercial real estate deals with extreme comfort across permanent, transitional/bridge, and construction financing opportunities.
- Build, audit, and maintain detailed (Excel) models to analyze historical cash flows, forward projections, renovation & construction budgets.
- Prepare credit memos (Word/PowerPoint/PDF) that incorporate financial models, along with market data and recommended financial structures.
Diligence & Execution
- Coordinate due diligence checklists; manage data rooms; track deliverables with internal and external stakeholders (clients, lenders, counsel, servicers).
- Support term sheet drafting, covenant design, and closing documentation in partnership with legal and capital markets.
- Maintain comparables, cap rate/yield benchmarks, expense ratios, and supply/demand datasets for target MSAs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Automation
- Partner with Product/Data to refine underwriting templates and reporting; help QA new tool and analytics.
- Work with Partnerships/Sales to scope new opportunities and ensure seamless handoff from origination to credit.
Qualifications & Experience
- 1–2+ years of relevant work experience in Commercial Real Estate Finance, ideally Hospitality sector involving debt, equity, management, or investment sales.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel for financial modeling (P&L and Cash Flow Forecasting, STR Reports, Debt Sizing, Equity Waterfalls, Market Trends/Analysis) and Word/PowerPoint for deal memorandums.
- Strong grasp of credit fundamentals (DSCR/DY, LTV/LTC, covenants, collateral).
- Exceptional writing and presentation skills; ability to distill complex analyses into crisp, decision-ready materials.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and accountable; thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment where strategic thinking and tactical execution go hand in hand.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Business, or a related field.
